American Income Life Insurance Program
From Cheryl L. Cook, Public Relations Director

Dear PSSA Members:

Please accept our sincere apology for an error made in the letter that you recently received from our company, American Income Life.  Our printer inadvertently switched mailings and placed the word “union” (instead of “Association”) in the opening paragraph.

Also, to eliminate any confusion, the Association has asked me to summarize and clarify the new benefits that you now have through PSSA and American Income Life.

Every PSSA Member currently has a $2,000 accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy.  You have this coverage now, whether or not you send in the yellow card that came with our mailing.

The letter asked you to return the card to list a beneficiary for the policy, but the choice is up to you.  If you list a specific beneficiary, the $2,000 will go directly to the person you name, not to your estate – possibly saving time/money depending upon your situation.  But again, you need not return the card to have the coverage.  If you do, an American Income Life representative will call and arrange an appointment to witness your signature, and you’ll receive a certificate of insurance.

You also have two other no-cost options available to you at this time:

·     You may receive a medical discount card that gives your whole family a discount on prescriptions, vision care, hearing aids, and chiropractic care at no cost for one year.  Dental and travel coverage are optional; and

·     You may also request Child Safe Kits, endorsed by the Union of Police Associations, for all of your children and grandchildren.  The kits are designed to help identify and protect your small loved ones, and are also provided free of charge.

To sign up for the Medical Discount Program and the Child Safe Kits, you must return the yellow card and make an appointment for an AIL representative to deliver and explain the use of these benefits.

If you have any questions or comments about the program, or if you need yellow cards (perhaps you threw your mailing away), please call me (Cheryl Cook) at 717-697-0905.  Leave a message and I will call you back within 24 hours.

Again, I’m sorry for the mistake in our first mailing and I look forward to a long relationship with your Association.
