PSSA Member Clubs' Trail Work
Southern Potter Snowmobile Club: Eight workdays for Trail Maintenance, Clearing and Widening. Intalling drainage pipes, rebuilding 22 foot long bridge on State Forest Land to new PA DCNR specs. for joint use bridges for recreation use. Intalling trail intersection signs with GPS coordinates. LOOK FOR THE ORANGE DIAMOND SIGNS!
Poe Valley Snowmobile Club: Trail clean-up in the Rothrock State Forest, Snowmobile only trail from Flat Road in Cooper's Gap to Barrville Road, Shingletown Road from beginning to end.
PA Grand Canyon Snowmobile Club: September work day to help maintain trails. Check for downed trees, put up snow fences for landowners, replace trail that was washed out
Hyner Mountain Snowmobile Club: Installing "STOP", "CAUTION" and "SNOWMOBILE CROSSING" signs and caution flagging on west side of Route 44 north of Reeders Addition Lane at request of Sproul State Forester to caution snowmobilers about heavy equipment drivers.
Forest County Snowmobile Club: Donated time and tractors to do "summer" grooming on snowmobile trails in the Allegheny National Forest (ANF). Partnered with other clubs in the ANF to make significant upgrades to many miles of trails in the ANF. Will operated three club groomers to maintain 70+ miles of trails in the ANFand recently purchased a groomer with the help of a PA DCNR C2P2 grant. Maintain trails in Kellettville, Whig Hill, Mayburg and Marienville areas of the ANF.
Tionesta Valley Snowmobile Club: Trail Mowing in Brown Run, Morrison Run, Rogertown Area. Lantz Corners Trail and Bridge Repair. Warr-Penn Lane mainenance and fencing. Summer Grooming. Marshburg/Red 1A Trail Re-Route Project. Signage Repair. Regular maintenane and repair on trail system. Effort on providing legal connections to food, fuel and lodging.
NEP Sno-Trails in Northeast PA: Voted to purchase a 3rd groomer for off shoot trails and "east" side of the mountain. Working on a connection to NY trails that would make the trail system substantialling larger. Clear brush, sign posting, making sure trails are ready and passable.
