SNOW ANGELS FOR CHILDREN

For nearly twenty (20) years, the generosity of PSSA’s members in purchasing annual raffle tickets and making donations has enabled the Association to contribute nearly $200,000. to aid in the care of children with special needs.

Through PSSA’s Snow Angels Children’s Charity, grants (up to $500 per child under the age of 18) are available throughout the State to aid families with children having severe medical or physical problems.

At any time, any PSSA member or club may request assistance for a child. All you need to do is send a letter or e-mail to the PSSA office describing the problem and how the child will benefit from money donated. If there are any newspaper articles about the child, we ask that you enclose them, too.

PSSA’s Snow Angel Committee, co-chaired by Ginny Kline and Pat Rider, and including Charmaine Weisenbacher and Tom Davidson, reviews each request received and authorizes grants to the level of funding available. In most instances, then, grant checks will be presented by the appropriate PSSA Regional Director, in cooperation with the club or individual making the request.

For PSSA’s Snow Angel raffle, all funds, after bills for printing and postage are paid and cash prizes awarded, is deposited and maintained in a separate Charity account. The level of contributions from this campaign determines the number of grant awards that may be made in the upcoming year.

Contributions to the Snow Angel Children's Charity may be made at any time by check or credit card.  Please mark your check "Snow Angel" and return to PSSA, 908 North Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102.  Charges are accepted by phone at (717) 441 6045 or toll free (888) 411-PSSA.
