PSSA MINIGRANT PROGRAM

In fall of 2005, PSSA’s Executive Committee met to layout a vsion for “growing the sport of snowmobiing in Pennsylvania”.

The following year, PSSA presented a proposal to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) that outlined this vision of a viable snowmobile trail system featuring quality trail maintenance, mapping, grooming, and signage throughout the Commonwealth.

The ability to fund snowmobile clubs' small statewide trail maintenance and improvement projects in a timely manner was viewed as a critical component of the Association’s planning to make that vision a reality.

The Mini-Grant Program, subsequently funded by DCNR and initiated in 2007, is the first step toward meeting that need.

In two MiniGrant rounds, fall of 2007 and spring of 2008, PSSA has awarded more than $33,000. to thirteen different (13) snowmobile clubs to aid with the cost of grooming, trail maintenance, and construction.
