It is difficult to talk about snowmobile recreation when the temperature in many parts of the state is over 80 degrees.

In spite of the heat many clubs work throughout the summer on trail maintenance, equipment updates and fundraising. Take time to offer your assistance. Many hands make light work.

The Snowmobile and ATV Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting is this Wednesday in Harrisburg. The Registration Fee Increase is on the agenda for discussion. Although PSSA has not been given any new information from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) the Board continues to discuss possibilities. I can assure the clubs that they will be given due consideration of their needs before PSSA votes for anything. Regional Directors have been discussing the issues for quite some time. Members have been frequently asked to keep their local, state and federal representatives apprised of the issues. They are the ones who will vote for any changes in the law.

Yesterday I was honored to be able to visit the Vietnam Wall “Wall That Heals” here in Erie. Many of the men and women who served in this War were of the age to ride and enjoy snowmobile recreation. They will never be forgotten.
