PA Snowmobile Registration

All snowmobiles in Pennsylvania must be registered and titled with the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources. DCNR offers a variety of options to make registration easier.  You may register or renew by phone, online, or by mail.  For online options click here. Trail permits are not required in Pennsylvania.

NEW: One-time Vintage Snowmobile permit now available for riding in Vintage Snowmobile Events.  “Vintage” is defined as at least 25 years from date of manufacture. $20 one-time fee. Download the application. A title must accompany the application.  Click here for a Certificate of Title application if you do not have a title.

To reach the Snowmobile/ATV Unit by mail:
Snowmobile/ATV Registration Section
PO Box 8553
Harrisburg, PA 17105-8553

Toll Free Number: 1-866-545-2476

For in-person visits, the Snowmobile/ATV Registration Section is located at 9 Dogwood Lane, Middletown, PA 17057.

DCNR reminds you that snowmobile registration and titling fees are NOT user fees for the privilege of using trails on state-owned land. The fees provide funding to administer the program, maintain trails on DCNR-managed parks and forests, and provide grants to profit and non-profit organizations for developing additional riding opportunities.

For details on the two types of registration, titling, fees, insurance and more —  visit the DCNR snowmobile homepage.
