Moving Forward – August 2021

Happy Summer!  THINK SNOW!

Don’t forget to return your Money Raffle tickets to the Palmyra Office.  The drawing will be held at the next Board meeting the third Wednesday of August beginning at 7:30 pm.  Anyone who wants to be on the Zoom call for this meeting should contact Kathy Woolever at the Palmyra Office for details.  Good Luck everyone!

I want to welcome our newest Board member to the Fundraising Committee.  Norm Strotman, President of the Bradford Snowmobile Club accepted the invitation to be the Chair of this Committee.  Norm has a background in banking and marketing.  I am sure the Committee will put his expertise to good use.

Tuesday of this week the PowerSport Show Committee held an Emergency meeting to discuss various aspects of the Show.  At this time it was determined that our major vendors could not commit to having inventory for our show.  Inventory has been a problem for most dealers/vendors.  The Committee discussed many options to have the show.   Much thought went into the decision that had to be made.  The Committee could not put PSSA in the position of not having quality inventory and losing money on the Show.  Again the bottom line is that PSSA wants to hold a quality show with appropriate vendors participating in the show.  Since this is not feasible at this time the Committee made the recommendation to the Board to not have the Show this year.

Wednesday of this week the Board met and discussed the recommendation of the PowerSport Show Committee.  Given the facts that vendors are having a great deal of difficulty acquiring inventory the decision was made to not have the Show this year.  It was a unanimous decision by all present.  This decision was made with much thought and discussion.   I think I can speak for the entire Board – this was not an easy decision to make at this time.

The Board would like to thank our sponsors – Blizzard, F&S, the manufactures, vendors and all volunteers for their continued support of PSSA.   Without them we could not have a Show.

The Fundraising Committee didn’t miss a beat and stepped into action.  Plans are being made to have various Raffles and possibly an Auction.  At this time these  ideas need more work/discussion.  The members will be informed  as soon as details are available.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.

The following sign which someone gave me many years ago speaks volumes for the future:

Liz Krug, President PSSA

Note:  Money Raffle tickets should be sent to the Palmyra Office.
