Moving Forward August 2018

Happy Summer!

I am glad there are people who love the high temperatures and high dew points
we have been experiencing. I would hate to see all of these “good” days go to
waste. I enjoy the low 70’s and low dew points myself. (Erie did not receive the
final inch of snow needed to break all records for the area.)

As stated in the last Moving Forward article the Board is analyzing our various
activities and sponsorships. We need to continually ask ourselves how this
activity or sponsorship is promoting PSSA and increasing snowmobile recreation
in general. ls there a better way?

We know social media is the means of communication for many today. I myself
like to have the newspaper in hand but lam learning to use the internet and
Facebook etc. to inform our readers of the news and information. Should PSSA
do more communicating with these tools?

Visit the website: www.pasnow.org The Website Committee has made changes
to our site. Hopefully it is easier to navigate and more informative of our
Association.. We are now beginning to accept sponsors for various segments of
our website. Contact Kathy Woolever if you are interested or want more
information. lt is a great way to showcase your business or club.

Your support of the PowerSport Show is needed. Please encourage potential
vendors to contact Kathy Woolever for information. Volunteers should contact
Travis Mathna. Their information is on the inside cover of the Keystone
Snowmobiler.

The Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association (PSSA) is continuing to
communicate with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. lt is
important to all of our Regions that those who do not have a Director nominate
someone. This is the means by which you will be heard in any future
negotiations concerning a registration fee increase. Directors are needed for the
following Regions: 2,4 (EAST),6,7,10. Call one of the officers if you are
interested or need more information.

Please return your current Voucher Raffle Tickets to Kathy Woolever at the
Palmyra office by July 29th. This drawing will be held at the Board Meeting on
August 4, 2018 in Clearfield. Your willingness to sell these tickets is appreciated.

Liz Krug, President – Think Snow (for next winter)

Plan Ahead:
PowerSport Show – October 26, 27 .28 Lebanon Expo Center – same as last
year.

Membership Meeting – April 27, 2019 – 9am – Ramada Golf and Conference
Center – University Park – same as this year.
