Moving Forward May 2018

Happy Mother’s Day

Erie needs about one more inch of snow to tie the annual snowfall record for small cities.  Of course we want more snow to set a new record.  I will have to rethink asking everyone to do a snow dance.  Erie had too much snow at one time.  People are tired of snow but want to break the record!  Now we need to do something for a Spring dance.

Thank you to all those who submitted nominations for Awards, Executive Board Nominations and Regional Director Nominations  Charles Walter, current Secretary, and Terry Wood, President of the Forest County Club have placed their names in nominations for the two open Executive Board positions.

Congratulations to all those who were nominated for awards.  All are very deserving of an award.  Awards will be announced at the Membership Meeting on May 5, 2018.  If you did not register and want to attend call me direct ASAP.

The Membership Meeting will begin with the Business Meeting at 9am followed by the Banquet, Open Forum and Auction.  The Auction helps to pay for this event.   We need your input of ideas, comments and suggestions to improve our Association.  Several topics already mentioned for the Open Forum include the following:  Annual Dues, Registration Fee, PSSA Financials and Frequently Asked Questions.  Hope to see you there.

Recently the Board voted to continue the PowerSport Show this year.   The Committee comprised of Travis Mathna, Arlene LaTourette, Chick Walters and Kathy Woolever will work on a budget.  Specific information will be made available as soon as dates etc. are determined.  The Committee continues to search for a Promoter for the Show.

Several clubs have changed officers, contact information etc.  Please send updated information including your club web-site and Facebook information to Kathy Woolever.  Kathy is always in need of pictures etc. for our Facebook page.  Her information is on the inside front cover page of the Keystone Snowmobiler.

Clubs are reminded to make sure you are following the Small Games of Chance Regulations in your County.  You need a license and a permit.  Check with your County Treasurer and make sure you have the required information on file.

Liz Krug, President – Think Snow (for next winter)

SEE YOU at the Membership Meeting – May 5, 2018 – Ramada Conference and Golf Hotel- University Park (same as this year)
